Washing your hair is something we all do with little to no thought about it, but did you know there actually is a correct way of washing your hair? It’s not difficult and it might just be adding an extra step or tweaking what you’re already doing!
Step 1: Your First Shampoo
This is the time to really get in and clean your scalp, use your fingertips to really massage the shampoo into your scalp or even a scalp scrubber. The first shampoo is going to get rid of any product, natural oils, environmental residue, etc.
(We recommend our Urgent Repair Shampoo for this step).
Step 2: Your Second Shampoo
This is going to be for the health of your scalp, so use a shampoo to preserve color, add hydration, or whatever you may need for your scalp! You can also do scalp massages during this to stimulate the follicles for hair growth!
**Reminder**
Shampoo is for your scalp only, when you rinse your hair that excess run off will clean anything off the ends of your hair.
Condition only on the mid to ends of your hair, this is the area that needs to most moisture.
Step 3: Your Conditioner
Try to gently squeeze out any excess water from your hair before applying conditioner throughout your ends and let it sit on for 3-5 minutes. You can also use this time to gently detangle if you struggle with tangles in your hair by using your fingers or a wet brush.
